Here is a brief demonstration of the "old generation" or OG Saab 9-3, which ran model years 1998-2002 (chassis code YS3D). The OG Saab 9-3 came in 5 door hatchback, 3 door "coupe" and convertible guise. Petrol engines were either 2.0 or 2.3 inline-4, DOCH 16 valve Saab H-engine with or without turbochargers. A 2.2 turbodiesel inline-4 was also introduced to the Saab lineup in 1998.
Trim levels ranged from base to S to SE. Aero was a premium trim with many optional extras. Performance-orientated drivers could opt for the 2.3 high output "HOT" turbo Viggen with mechanical performance upgrades and a body kit. Very few Viggens were made though (just 4,600 units).
All OG 9-3s are old now, but well-maintained examples are still good daily drivers such as the example car here. A well-kept turbo is a very nice car to own. Both the 3 and 5 door hatchbacks are very practical due to the enormous cargo area.
