Today I am posting vedio on anode heel effect.
Anode heel effect- it refers to x-ray beam intensities variation in which intensities on cathode side is higher as compared to to anode side.
Factors affecting anode heel effect.
1) Anode angle-: anode heel effect is inversely proportional to another angle..
Which mean higher the anode angle lower the anode heel effect.
2) SID - ( source to image receptor distance)
Heel effect is inversely proportional to a SID.
It mean higher the SID lower will be the the anode heel effect.
3) field size -: anode heel effect is directly proportional to field size.
It means as we increase the field size we will see more anode heel effect.
How to take advantage of anode heel effect :-
we can take advantage of anode heel effect by placing the thicker anatomical part towards the cathode side and thinner part towards anode side.
