The Warriors is a 1979 action-adventure film directed by Walter Hill and based on Sol Yurick's 1965 novel of the same name. The movie is set in a dystopian New York City, where various street gangs rule different neighborhoods. The Warriors, a gang from Coney Island, attend a summit called by Cyrus, the leader of the most powerful gang in the city. However, Cyrus is assassinated, and the blame falls on the Warriors, who must fight their way back to their home turf while being hunted by every other gang in the city. The movie follows their journey as they navigate through the treacherous streets of New York, encountering rival gangs and the police, while struggling to prove their innocence and survive the night.
