I enjoy working in a trio setting with no drums. Especially when the rhythm sections swings this hard. Joe Policastro and Terry Bartolotta play so well together that all I have to do is not get in their way. My swing feel and lines come out naturally when the feel is this good. Adding ghosted notes to my lines makes them bounce and gives them energy. The Butler Trombones outer slide lets me get to the positions so quickly that I it feels like the lines are just coming out by themselves. I’ll have more to post from this gig. Enjoy.
