Residents in Crowborough accuse the Home Office of “lying” after 27 male asylum seekers were moved into former army barracks at 3:28 am.
The site will house up to 540 men temporarily. Locals fear crime and lack of transparency, while campaigners seek legal action. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood says the move is “just the start” of closing migrant hotels to restore border control.
