Mercenary are a hardcore/d-beat band from Atlanta, GA. Out of the ashes of Atlanta hardcore band Bukkake Boys, Mercenary traded in the USHC stylings of their previous band for a much more European/Japanese noisy d-beat sound. The guitars especially have this buzz-saw kinda quality that remind me of heavier Japanese bands like Framtid. Following up their 2013 demo, I heard the original plan was for Mercenary to record an LP. Unfortunately, the band broke up and announced their last show would be at Atlanta's Burning Fest 2015. I believe these recordings are from a session that were supposed to be for the 12", but instead the band put a few tracks on cassette to sell at Atlanta's Burning. It's too bad because based on these songs, the LP that never was would've been a total rager.
