This is the worlds fastest car. Not the fastest EV, not fastest in its class... The fastest car on this planet. The Tesla Model S Plaid launches 0-60mph in 1.9 seconds and it feels uncomfortably unnatural. For comparison sake, a Bugatti Chiron does 0-60 in a measly 2.6 seconds. The best way to describe it is "painfully fast" since a headache and a nauseas stomach usually follow this type of acceleration. Be prepared to experience 1.2G of gravitational force when the Plaid accelerates.
The Tesla Model S Plaid is powered by three electric motors producing a combined 1,020 horsepower and 1,050 lb/ft of torque. As you will see by the reactions to the acceleration, you simply cannot prepare for the sensation since there is just nothing like it on the planet. Comparing it to roller coasters or motorcycles is also inaccurate.
Speed is only one of this car amazing features. The interior is absolutely loaded with surprising and quirky innovation that will blow your mind. From the strangest steering wheel (the infamous YOKE), to a gaming console that you interact with using the YOKE... this car is as ahead of its time as it gets. Interior features such as the largest single screen in the industry and the absence of gear levers and column stocks remind you that the Tesla Model S Plaid is simply on a different level with no real competitor in sight. Rivian and Lucid have a hell of a benchmark to surpass.
