Manjara River branches out from Godawari river in Beed district. It spans a distance of 192 Km in Latur District. According to government records, the area under cultivation in Latur district is almost 10 percent of its geographical area. With pace of urbanization the area is getting less and less. On the flip side, although a feeble growth in irrigation, the area under cultivation (where crops are taken), keeps the thing somewhat balanced.
