How I Transformed an Old Painting We Almost Gave Away

We had an old painting that once fit perfectly into the interior of our previous home. The style, the colors, the mood — everything worked back then. But after moving to a new house, it became clear that the painting no longer belonged there. It didn’t match the space or the atmosphere of our new interior. We thought about giving it away and started looking for a new artwork, but nothing we found really felt right or reflected our taste.
At some point, my husband suggested a different idea: instead of replacing the painting, why not transform it? He encouraged me to rework it so it would fit our new home — to change the colors, the style, and the overall feeling. In this film, I show the entire process of turning that old painting into something new. I add elements, build texture, adjust the color palette, and gradually reshape the artwork into a more structured and modern piece that works with our current interior.
This is a story about rethinking what we already have, about creativity instead of disposal, and about how an old painting we almost gave away found a new life and a new place in our home.
