Hyper Edition itself is the sequel to Sonic the Fighters Blitz that will continue to complete and add on to what Restless Dipstick (the creator of Blitz) had originally planned for the game.

The Hyper Edition team have come together to finish the roadmap that restless had planned and to make the game even better, adding more characters, improving the existing roster, and creating Hyper Edition to be the Best Version of Blitz.

Short backstory to this. Following version 1 of blitz by the original creator, it was announced around the beginning of 2023 that since the passion for the project was no longer there, it would be cancelled. One month later, knowing how much potential the game has, a team decided to pick up where progress on the fan game was left off and revive it to the full extent, which leads to it's new name known as Hyper Edition.

• An open source version, now with full mod support.
• Completely revamped characters that re-invent the game.
• A new gamemode.. Tag Mode!
- You can choose your characters assists at the start of every round, and send them in to help you.
• An improved training menu.
• And a new character.. Crusty, along with his own new stage - Debug.

For now I've decided to check out a couple of notable new features such as Tag Mode & a sample gameplay of the new character to the roster.
