I see we've got a few new subs - hello everybody! Glad you could join us 😀. Spread the word and let's get even more of a community going - and if you've just happened upon this, don't forget to subscribe and like for more 😉.
This is a simple video of me goofing around on my Firehawk FX. I've got it running straight into the Power Amp In on my Peavey Bandit, and I'm using my Yamaha Revstar RS420 (all stock) for the noise...

The FX pedal: https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/line-6-fi...
Modern version of Amp: https://www.andertons.co.uk/peavey-tr...
The tones you can hear are ones that I've built myself ("homemade" if you will), and these cover a wide sonic territory from clean Fender tones through to ENGL high-gain via Vox AC, Marshall '59 and Dr Z. and Divided by 13 boutique sounds. They're now available in the Tone Cloud under the username jrb101!
I was going to shoot a more "review" based video, but in the end I decided you'd get more from just hearing the range of sounds this thing can make 🙂.
The review is simple - for £249 this thing is amazing...
Is it as good as Kemper, Axe-FX, Helix, Headrush, the new GT-1000? No. Are the amps emulations and pedal emulations as good as going and spending £5000 on boutique gear? No. But is it gig-able? Definitely! And it's a lot cheaper than all those options too 😂.
More realistically, its main competition is from Zoom's G3n and G5n, Boss' GT-100 and ironically Line 6's POD HD500X. From personal experience I'd say the amps sound better than the Boss, and the overall amps and effects are more consistent than the Zooms (there are some killer effects on the Zoom G-series though, along with some rubbish!).
That leaves the HD500X:
The big difference between the Firehawk and the HD500X is in how you use them - Firehawk uses a really intuitive app (as you can see in the video) and the footswitches are colour-coded for what effects you've got. The HD500X is more powerful, with dual amp setups and no restrictions on what order/components you can use, but it is far less easy to operate and set up, with a small screen and much knob twiddling to get what you want.
Basically it's swings and roundabouts between the HD500X and the Firehawk - they both sound great as they use the same Line 6 HD modelling technology! Have a listen and see if the Firehawk is the right multi-effects pedal for you!
Thanks for watching!
