As a Bradford City fan Shep from Peculiar Disco Moves decided that an opportunity to write a Cup Final song probably wouldn't arise again until 2115 (the last one was in 1911).
The song reflects on the run to the final with references to the Notts County, Watford, Burton Albion, Wigan, Arsenal and Aston Villa games. It was recorded in 4 hours with the help of Peculiar Disco Moves bass player Proud. As the drummer in the band wrote off his car on the morning of the recording and couldn't make it, Shep and Proud had to improvise with pots and pans in creating a percussion track for the song. Ironically the pans they used were made by a company called 'Swan' (Bradford play Swansea in the final).
The video took ten minutes to plan and was filmed entirely on a mobile phone as no one thought to ask to borrow a video camera. Hopefully the DIY element adds to the mood...
