In the first part of Katharanya – Edition Six, the Karu Experience Centre was graced by the resonant voice of Dr. Chandrima Roy. Elocutionist and founder of Kobitay Kathalap, Dr. Roy held the audience in a hush with her poignant rendering of the poet’s timeless words—spoken not just with precision, but with deep feeling and measured grace.
As the lilting strains of the Esraj, played tenderly by Debayan Majumder, drifted across the room, verse and melody blended into an atmosphere of gentle reflection. Her selections reminded us that language can still soothe, still awaken, still reform. In Dr. Roy’s hands, elocution became more than performance: it became healing.
A session that stilled the room, lifted spirits, and carried the poet’s message into the present moment.
