The Irreversible Damage of Final Fantasy X HD

The Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is the only way to legally play Final Fantasy X on modern consoles. However, this remaster has never sat right with me in terms of the "upgrade" it recieved. But why did this happen?
