My Amsoil VS Shell 5W-40 Test Is Delayed - Here's Why

In this video, I explain why my highly anticipated Amsoil vs Shell Rotella oil comparison test for the 6.7 PowerStroke diesel engine has been temporarily delayed. If you've been following my maintenance updates and oil analysis results, you’ll know I planned a head-to-head test to compare Amsoil synthetic diesel oil to Shell Rotella T6. However, several issues popped up that impacted the results.

First, I accidentally used different oil filters during the comparison, which could skew the oil test data. Second, my truck is currently experiencing DPF regeneration issues, which affects fuel dilution and soot levels in the oil—critical factors in any oil analysis. And third, a leaking upper oil pan has introduced even more variability in consumption and contamination levels.

This channel focuses on Ford Super Duty diesel trucks, long-term maintenance, and oil analysis reports from labs like SPEEDiagnostix. I’ll still run the test, but I want to make sure it’s done right for the PowerStroke 6.7L community.
