Chinese men facing a skewed sex ratio at home are seeking wives from Nepal amid a trend fuelled by online marriage brokers. The matchmakers, who often feature impoverished young Nepali women on live streams, charge fees for such arrangements. But local NGOs warn that the transactions may be coercive and result in marriages to underaged girls. In Nepal, the legal age for marriage is 20.
