Sick with Sepsis. NEARLY Sent Home from the Emergency Department. Life with a Vent

Recently, I became severely sick. I went to the emergency department. The emergency department did basic blood work. Although, there were a few markers which were high, the doctor said I was fine and told me I was going to be sent home. I was in a panic! I was EXTREMELY sick. I knew I had sepsis. I protested and told the physician I could not go home because I was very sick and had sepsis.
After pleading with the doctor, he said he could talk to hospital team and ask for them to decide if I should be admitted to the hospital. Thankfully, the hospital team immediately saw how sick I was, and they agreed to admit me to the hospital. And it was a good thing they did because my blood cultures came back as being positive for a blood infection, and I was diagnosed with sepsis. #sepsis #emergencydepartment #lifewithavent
