This is Part 2 of the Introduction to Pharmacology by Professor Fink. In this Video Lecture, Professor Fink continues his summary of Drug Legislation, including the 1970 Controlled Substances Act. Distinction is made between the DEA and the FDA and what they enforce. Each of the 5 Schedules of Controlled Substances are described, as well as the regulations controlling their dispensing. Professor Fink then explains the parts of a Prescription Form, common abbreviations used, and gives examples of how to fill-out a Prescription Form. Reference is made to the DEA #, and the use of Security (Tamper-Resistant) Prescription Forms. Professor Fink also reviews the conversion of grains to mg, and explains what a "Tylenol with Codeine #3" means.
