U-Shwe-Yo and Dao- Mao dance (U-Shi-Yo) performed by Burmese artistes from Saigang region.
U-Shwe-Yo means actor and Dao-Moa means actress. This dance is performed by one male and one female dancers. It originated in 1923 A.D and ever since has been a favorite/popular form of entertainment for the people of Myanmar. The amusing and comical nature of the dance enthralls the audience.
This dance presentation is always performed at Pagoda Festivals to show respect/reverence to Lord Buddha and is an inseperable part of Myanmarese culture and tradition.
