15 Minutes of Video Game Music - Ending from MegaMan X8

Another MegaMan Music Marathon comes to a close with this, the final upload for the 2025 edition. VideoGameJNPoop, you really had to make me work hard for this one because it took a damn long time to actually get to this point in the game. It was worth it, though, because by the end of it is a beautiful mix of pianos, acoustic guitars and backing strings. This is another song that doesn't loop, and it's one where placing the loop mid-song didn't make much sense, so... I had to improvise by looping from the beginning in a way where the first of the closing notes blend with the opening notes. I hope this loop is satisfactory.

Looping issues aside, we end the 2025 MegaMan Music Marathon with Ending from MegaMan X8.

After 3 years of triple-digit figures, we are back to a more normal tally of songs for one of these marathons at 71. I'm honestly amazed it took this long to cool off, though I have to say, I'm surprised at how few MegaMan Battle Network requests there were this year after the onslaught of requests received since the 2022 MegaMan Music Marathon. Not sure if this is as a result of the hype from MegaMan Battle Network Legacy Collection's release having died down (that probably happened well before now) or some level of burnout from so much MegaMan Battle Network music being requested at once. Whatever the case may be, this year had the classic and X series in the spotlight most frequently for the first time in quite a while, and while I wasn't a fan of everything that was requested, I had a good time recording these as I have done since 2012. With the special place MegaMan has as a character and franchise for me, having this dedicated month-long marathon is always a lot of fun for me, even when things go overboard or my equipment decides not to cooperate.
Next year, things are going to be handled a little differently. With this year's change in audio equipment to the MOTU 828 Mk. II, the 2026 edition of the MegaMan Music Marathon will be open to requests for reuploads of every song ever featured until the end of the 2024 marathon to bring the recording quality in line with the 2025 and future 2026 uploads. I will also open up requests to include prototype versions of songs. It's going to be interesting listening to what could have been.
Lastly, we are now at 991 songs across all 14 editions of the MegaMan Music Marathon. We'll be hitting the 1000 song mark in 2026 edition. Think of something special to have as the 1000th song, either something that sounds exceptional or that is from a more obscure game in the series, make the request next year, and I'll bust out the hardware to record it from.
