EARLY MIOCENE LOWER SEMILIR VOLCANIC
For nearly 100 m length, this middle part of Semilir Formation exposed along both side of roadcut, with total vertical thickness reaching 20 m. They are gently dipping to the south, around 10o. This outcrop is showing different type of gravity flow, i.e. high-density current, which suggested by ball and pillow structures, as well as cohesive debris flow deposits. The lithologies were composed of polymictic-pebbly sandstones with massive structures, suggesting resedimentation processes in an enormous volcaniclastic sediment supply environment, possible in the inner (proximal) zone of submarine-fan. Several highly cemented layers intermittently clearly visible, following the regional sedimentary tilt, suggesting the diagenetic processes took place in subaerial environment, before the overlying unit deposited. The overlying sedimentary unit was composed of intercalation fine-grained siliciclastic sedimentary layers, with minor tuff layer, possibly associated as leeve deposits.
