Macaulay Culkin and Michael Jackson may have been years apart in age, but they had a lot in common. They didn’t have normal childhoods outside of the spotlight. They just wanted to be silly and relax without a camera rolling. Michael’s Neverland Ranch gave them that opportunity. Macaulay and his siblings spent many of their younger days there pulling prank calls and riding in hot air balloons. It was a dream for any child, but it raised the eyebrows of some adults. They worried about reports that Michael and the MacCauley family all shared the same bedroom when they stayed together. It didn’t matter that these rooms were multiple stories tall.

The dream fell apart when sexual abuse allegations came against the King of Pop. The first was settled out of court, but the second went to trial. Macaulay went to court to defend his friend. He wanted to tell the truth that he hadn’t been abused or seen anything improper going on at the ranch.
The issue resurfaced after the release of the Leaving Neverland documentary. It brings up a whole new set of accusations against Michael.

Macaulay once again feels the need to set the record straight about his friend. He stands by his original position, and these new claims hurt even more now that his friend is no longer alive.
He also wants to shine a light on the real Michael Jackson behind the King of Pop persona. They communicated like actual humans. That let him see how funny and childlike the singer could be.
