The Chevy Express van interior door panel has a built in armrest sufficient to rest an arm on if ever needed (one person's opinion), so having an armrest on the "left" side of the Driver's Captain's Chair only caused an issue for the "pull-around" curtain/shade if not tucked behind the backrest of the chair.
It could be seen from prior owner's use that the plastic snaps on the curtain (top) where attached to the wrap around plastic channel had torn out in 2 spots closest to the rear of the seat.
This video was done after modifying the cabinet and wall supporting the right side of the kitchen galley showing removal of the LH armrest as unnecessary for use due to the proximity of the left side of the chair to the interior door side panels.
In this video the chair was removed for a 2nd alteration but the armrest could be removed "without" unbolting the chair.
Simple tools were used as in a needle nose pliar to remove the spring clip holding the arm to the chair frame.
