In this video I’ll be sharing 10 tips for starting a home daycare or preschool program.

#1- FIND OUT ALL LICENSING REQUIREMENTS AND CITY CODE INFORMATION (tx health and human services, previously dfps) (education, experience requirements)
#2-Set up a dedicated space for your program. (Mine is in my formal living area in the front part of my home)
#3- create a schedule/routine appropriate for the ages you will be keeping
#4- set clear hours and policies -this is a business and to be successful it must be run as so.
#5- set pricing information, call around to other programs, ask parents, etc.
#6- Network! Meet other early learning professionals in your area. Childcare Associations, alliances, groups, can help with referrals and training information
#7-Meals ( breakfast lunch snacks, will parents bring, will you prepare) food program/no food program
#8- Calendar (days off, paid unpaid)
#9- TALK TO OTHERS IN YOUR HOME ABOUT PLANS
#10- childproof and daycare ready your home
