Until now, our network of routes in Portsmouth has almost exclusively used single-deck vehicles with the exception of the City Circle 1A/1C, Park & Ride route 3, and mainline route 10 to Havant and the 2 main long distance services in the form of Greenway route 220 and Solent Limited route 100. Today, city routes 2 and 5 to the University and Waterlooville respectively will see their allocation upgraded to some brand new ADL Enviro400 MMC double deckers to provide enhanced capacity along those routes. A number of the Volvo B8R Wright Eclipse 3s used on those routes will then be cascaded to the garages at Standard Way in Fareham, and Haslar Marine in Gosport for use on the regional route 230 from Fareham to Bishop's Waltham and mainline service 205 from Gosport to Fareham.
