2010 - 2013 Acura MDX Driver side door harness repair

Could not unlock all doors from remote or from driver door buttons. Gas door release and trunk lid buttons were not working either. Turns out root cause was a broken wire inside the harness. Attempts to remove the pin in the connector and solder the wire back failed because I did not have proper tools for de pinning. Called dealer for a replacement harness and was told TBA as they already had customers waiting 6+ months for a replacement harness ($144 CDN). Anyway, couldn't wait so I resorted to a hack which ended up working.
Lessons learned.
1. Get proper de pinning tools.
2. Move the driver seat all the way back before disconnecting the battery.
3. Take your time with everything and don't force anything causing it to break, especially with trim on the door panel. Luckily I didn't break anything on the door panel but I did rush the attempt at removing the pin in the connector which broke.
