I had anticipated that part 1 would find a healthy audience, but I hadn't actually expected people to get so invested in the story of the game that the video ending would make them feel rug-pulled. Really, I began making part 2 for those people. Even though Scratches can still be accessed through unorthodox means, I realize that a good deal of people prefer to watch horror games as opposed to play them firsthand -- I should know, that used to be me. And it didn't sit right with me that a lot of people felt cheated, like they were watching a game-walkthrough and not an analysis -- perhaps I should have been clearer about my intentions.

But as I began writing part 2 and digging deeper into the script it became about much more than offering those viewers closure. The game had so many unanswered questions, even after the credits, that entertained me endlessly and led me to put absurd amounts of thought into 'solving the mysteries' of the game. And even after my interview with Agustin Cordes (where some of these theories got blown up) I was still quite happy to have spent the time theorizing in the first place. I also learned the important lesson that a creator should not be asked about every little thing -- a mistake I hope not to make again.

Regardless, I think this video will satisfy those of you out there who wanted to see the conclusion to this awesome horror game, and those of you out there who already know how the story ends will probably find out something you didn't know -- I sure didn't know much of what's in this video when I began making it.
