Madonna Plays in Istanbul, Turkey after Tour Debut in Tel Aviv, Israel: Asks DJ Nissan to Join

Only a week after launching her new tour in Tel Aviv Madonna has asked her Israeli warm-up act, DJ Offer Nissan, to join her in Turkey.

During her stop in Israel, the American singer spoke of her desire for peace in the Middle East, warning fans that they could not truly appreciate her music unless they shared her longing to bring an end to violence.

With relations between Turkey and Israel at a low ebb, Madonna may be hoping to promote cultural exchange by bringing DJ Nissan with her to Istanbul.

Only this week Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel of killing and imprisoning innocent people in Gaza at the opening of the World Economic Forum.
It remains to be seen whether the Queen of Pop will be successful in transmitting her message of peace or whether it is perceived as pointless provocation.
