FR : Ce film présente la Communauté Emmaüs de la Mayenne et du Castelbriantais. Il est un complément au livre qui porte le même titre, tous deux diffusés au public pour la première fois le 19 octobre 2019 à Laval, lors d'une soirée anniversaire pour fêter les 30 ans de la Communauté.
Si le livre raconte la genèse et l'histoire de la Communauté depuis sa création, le film s'attache plus particulièrement à montrer la situation présente et les projets à venir, qui sont le résultat de 30 ans de solidarité envers les plus démunis.

EN : This film describes the model of an Emmaüs Community as it exists in all the departements in France (over 120). You wil discover the activities based on the reuse of second hand materials, the organization subdivided in three different groups : the Companions (who where previously homeless), the volunteers (often retired people who give help) and the little group of professionnals who are coordinating everything. You will also discover how the companions are hosted in pretty good conditions to let them live and contribute to the economic model of the activities which let them stay independent. This film was made for the 30th birthday of existence of the Community.

The Emmaüs Movement was created in the 1950's by Abbé Pierre, French Abott who fighted all his life for giving a better condition of existence to the poorest and homeless people. It starded from France and spread all around the World into 40 other countries.

The film is subtitled in english for the viewers who don't understand french.
