डोनाल्ड ट्रंप यांच्या आधी अमेरिकेत डेमोक्रॅटिक पक्ष सत्तेवर होता. त्या डेमोक्रॅट सरकारने ग्रीन एनर्जीला प्राधान्य दिले होते. ग्रीन एनर्जीचा विस्तार व्हावा यासाठी ग्रीन एनर्जी निर्माण करणाऱ्या कंपन्यांना मोठ्या प्रमाणावर अनुदाने दिली जात होती. मात्र ट्रंप सत्तेवर येताच ही अनुदाने पूर्णपणे रद्द करण्यात आली किंवा मोठ्या प्रमाणात कमी करण्यात आली.
मात्र आता अमेरिकेतील अनेक मोठ्या कंपन्या ट्रंप यांच्या धोरणांच्या विरोधात पावले उचलताना दिसत आहेत. गुगलची पॅरेंट कंपनी असलेल्या अल्फाबेटने ‘इंटरसेक्ट पॉवर’ या ग्रीन एनर्जी क्षेत्रात कार्यरत असलेल्या मोठ्या कंपनीचा ताबा घेतला आहे. गुगल जगभरात डेटा सेंटर्स उभारत आहे.

Alphabet, Google’s parent company, has acquired a large company called Intersect Power, which operates in the green energy sector. Google is building data centers across the world.
