📸 In this video: I explored some of the most beautiful beaches and breathtaking coastal walks in the UK. Uncover hidden gems, pristine sands, and panoramic ocean views that will leave you in awe.
📍Haven Beach
The beach can only be accessed via steep stairs, making it quite challenging to reach. It is located right under Tintagel Castle and offers absolutely stunning views. It's a tiny beach with not many people, even on sunny days. Tintagel Haven Beach, also known as Merlin Cove, is particularly beautiful with a waterfall that tumbles down from the rugged cliffs. Be sure to visit Merlin's Cove at low tide and check the tide schedule beforehand. Haven Beach is public, so there's no need to purchase a castle ticket from SW Coast Path.
📍Tintagle Castle
The castle ruins are breathtaking, with cliffs offering panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. The enchanting legends surrounding the castle, including its association with King Arthur and the wizard Merlin, add to its allure. The entry ticket costs £21.80, but it is absolutely worth it for the fantastic views. The castle is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm, and it is just a 5-minute walk from the nearest parking.
The view from the cliff is incredible; I ended up sitting there for nearly an hour. It’s probably the best coastal walk at the Cornish Sea and the Atlantic Sea.
📍King Arthur Statue
The statue of King Arthur is located above the cliffs on the Atlantic coast side of the castle. King Arthur is said to have been born in Cornwall and was taken by Merlin.
📍Porthcurno Beach, Cornwall
Porthcurno Beach is another beautiful spot, overlooked by the Minack Theatre, with golden sand and a picturesque sea. It is considered one of the finest beaches in the UK, with soft white sand and turquoise water. The stunning view from the coastal line is worth the steep and narrow walk. It feels more like a Mediterranean beach than one in the UK. The water is clear and calm, perfect for swimming with kids. There's plenty of space in the car park at a reasonable price.
📍Kynance Cove
The beach is famous for its white sands, rugged rock formations, and dark green and red serpentinite cliffs. It can be pretty crowded on sunny days and requires a 20-minute walk from the car park to reach. It could be a great day out with kids, offering a safe refuge from high tide between the rock pools. I prefer the cliff walk over the crowded beach, as many people sunbathe on the rocks. The steep climb down is well worth it for the spectacular scenery, perfect for artists.
📍Wild Pony Colony
While hiking and avoiding the crowds on the beach, I found a wild pony colony. The ponies looked friendly and didn't seem to mind hikers passing by. They graze in the wild and brood in Cornwall, England.
