Dr Dan advocates for the use of an 'ambient tone' in singing, a concept not commonly found in textbooks, which he describes as a midway point between a clean tone and an aspirated one. The ambient tone, he explains, retains a certain softness around the edge of the sound, requiring less airflow compared to a clean tone while simultaneously avoiding a harsh edge, thereby maintaining the quality of the tone.
