In honor of the birth of the psychedelic research, we are honored to host Rachel Hope, to share her story being a participant in the MAPS Phase II trials of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of PTSD.
What is Bicycle Day?!
Bicycle Day is an international holiday that commemorates the date that Dr. Albert Hofmann first tripped on LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide-25) and bicycled home from his lab in Basel, Switzerland on April 19th, 1943. During the bicycle ride home, he experienced the psychedelic effects of LSD, making this the date of the first acid trip in history, propelling the West into the Psychedelic Age. TALK TITLE
Transformation: From Trauma Victim to Public Advocate, Healing PTSD with MDMA Assisted Psychotherapy
DESCRIPTION
Rachel Hope was one of the first participants treated for chronic, treatment resistant PTSD in the MAPS-sponsored clinical trial that used MDMA-assisted psychotherapy. Rachel will speak on her message of personal life-saving transformation from decades of crippling trauma, failed therapies and prescribed drugs to a sustained, drug free recovery through MDMA-assisted therapy, ecstatic dance, and public activism. The three MDMA-assisted psychotherapy sessions set the stage for Rachel to be her own healer.
This presentation will be the start of a national speaking tour, where Rachel intends to deliver the message of hope to individuals and organizations who will participate in the re-legalization of MDMA-assisted Psychotherapy and the Mental Health Revolution. You can support her efforts by recommending her presentation to organizations where she can be of influence or by supporting MAPS.
Rachel's hope is that her story will inspire those impacted by trauma and mental illness to stay alive, ask for, and advocate for the re-legalization of MDMA for clinical use.
