Marine Light RTM Hard Top Demo | CAMX 2022

This demo highlights a Light RTM process for marine hard top production, using a conventional A-side mold paired with a matched upper mold offset for cavity thickness. This configuration enables consistent laminate control while supporting efficient, repeatable composite manufacturing.

By fixing the cavity thickness, manufacturers gain precise control over part thickness and resin volume, eliminating guesswork during injection and supporting higher-quality part production. The lightweight upper mold also improves handling and ergonomics, making the process easier to manage on the shop floor.

The demo features materials, tooling, and equipment from RTM North LTD., ChemTrend, Vectorply, Polynt, and MVP, supporting reliable mold preparation, controlled resin delivery, and consistent part quality.
