Thousands of people need urgent medical evacuation from Gaza

More than 56,000 people have been killed and around 125,000 wounded in Gaza since October 7, 2023. Among the wounded, thousands require specialized medical care that is unavailable because the health care system in Gaza has been decimated by Israeli forces . To make matters worse, Israel has reduced medical evacuations to a near halt, with many critical cases being delayed or denied regardless of medical urgency.

Israel must immediately facilitate the medical evacuation of the thousands of patients in need of lifesaving care and countries must open their doors to provide health care to these patients. A clear and predictable medical evacuation system with safe corridors and without family separations must be urgently established, while ensuring Palestinians’ right to return to Gaza after treatment.
