The Schoolyard Forest Design Lecture Series, hosted by Green Schoolyards America, provides technical, design-focused guidance for creating and stewarding high-quality green schoolyards and schoolyard forests. Sessions feature presentations by subject-area experts including Green Schoolyards America staff, along with time for audience Q&A. All webinars are free and recorded.

On October 5, 2023, Green Schoolyards America's California State Director Alejandra Chiesa, and Lisa Howard, Principal with Bay Tree Design, delved into the fundamental design principles and key components and materials to consider when creating a schoolyard forest. Additionally, they outlined the process to guide the successful creation of schoolyard forests to improve learning, health and environmental resilience.
