The Deepest Hole In America Is Behind This Entrance

We finally did it, to rappel into this pit - the biggest free hanging pit inside a cave in America is breathtaking to say the least. Hidden inside pigeon mountain in north Georgia is Ellisons cave, the “pit” or canyon is called fantastic pit and is the apex of vertical caving for cavers across the whole world. The amount of water needed to create such a thing is mind blowing and just by looking at the mountain you’d never guess what is under its surface. We are lucky enough to live hours away from it and spent all summer physically and mentally preparing for this epic journey. We’re not done yet though we’re going to explore the bowels of this cave which is mapped at 14 miles (I think I’ll have to double check) I cannot wait to show you guys my perspective of the craziest adventure I’ve ever been on.
