After years of challenges in Romania, we made a bold decision to move our family—two parents, two kids, a trailer full of hopes, and one dream: to build a better life where our children could feel included, grow with confidence, and be happy.

🟡 Arriving in the dark at a small holiday house in Aalst—with no idea what was waiting for us the next day.
🟡 Waking up to the peace and beauty of a Dutch winter morning… and realizing that maybe, we were exactly where we needed to be.
🟡 The rush to get our BSN numbers, traveling to Eindhoven because appointments in Rotterdam were fully booked.
🟡 Enrolling our children, Andri and Nia, into their first Dutch school in Ridderkerk—and the joy of hearing “They will be fine. Let’s make them feel at home.”
🟡 The rollercoaster of searching for a house—endless rejections, offers turned down, and nights wondering if we’d ever find a home.
🟡 That one moment that changed everything—a reply from an agent in Barendrecht, and the house that felt like it was waiting for us.
🟡 Opening our first bank account, learning patience the Dutch way… and finally finding our rhythm.
🟡 Furnishing our home through second-hand treasures from Marktplaats—and discovering the kindness of strangers.

It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t perfect. But it was real. And it was ours.

Barendrecht became our first real home. A quiet town that gave us peace, stability, and a moment to breathe. It was the beginning of our new life—and we will never forget it.
