Make sure not to loose his name recognition or pair his name with negative situations. Puppy Push ups (sit, down, stand/up). Ways to help with down cue. Try a chair to help create a tunnel for him to try creating a down position. Use luring in the beginning but then make sure to fade out the lure. Are we depositing enough into each behavior/skill account? Mark behavior/skill when preformed with the marker word “yes” or some folks may like a clicker. The marker word “yes” equals here comes your food reinforcer for that thing you just did. Helps behavior become more likely to happen again in the future. Cuing for eye contact: look/watch me/focus/eyes (many slogans for the skill, pick one that makes sense to you and your household). Luring, capturing and shaping to create skills/behaviors (check out materials in prior emails). “Bribe vs paycheck” as skills become more comfortable and reliable.
