Monkey Life S17 Full Season: In Monkey Life Series 17, we follow the ongoing work of Monkey World – Ape Rescue Centre. Alison goes to collect Kush a pet marmoset in need of a new home despite the best efforts of her owner. Kush is another victim of the legal trade in monkeys in the UK but there’s good news as new laws to protect primates are passed. The change in law will take time to come into effect so it’s not long until Alison has to head to the Midlands to pick up a marmoset found wandering the streets of Wolverhampton. The maintenance team have been busy building a new house and enclosure as preparations are made to rescue the park’s first ever troop of hamadryas baboons. But the ongoing conflict in the Lebanon puts the rescue on hold indefinitely. Alison then makes plans to rehome a partially paralysed chimp called Chocolat, the 23 year old has been looked after in Kenya since she was a baby but her rescuer is now elderly so Chocolat needs a new home. Jeremy’s goes to Kenya to meet disabled chimp Chocolat and accompany her to the UK, where a new home and family are waiting at the park. There’s big changes afoot for the parks orangutans, Awan is to be moved to Wingham Wildlife Park to join Jin, a former Monkey World resident but not before DNA testing to confirm they aren’t related. Then Mimi leaves the nursery to join Tuan’s adult orang-utan group. Sadly saki monkey Desmond loses his lady long-time partner Chloe. But the Primate Care Staff manage to find him a new partner called Neevah. While at Dao Tien, Monkey Worlds sister sanctuary in Vietnam, it’s a race against time to reach two recued baby silvered langurs, black shank douc monkey Peter returns to the wild and baby silvered langur Diep moves into a new home.
