I started building farm style benches and came across a bench design that was displayed for sale for $600?! I looked into the bench to see why it cost so much. I was not able to figure out why they priced this bench at such a high price. The wood that was used was not enough to validate their request and neither was their size of this bench.

I decided to build this bench with the least amount of materials and with the thought that I could help someone save an enormous amount of money if someone they knew wanted this style bench.

Was I able to complete this project of making a farm style bench with only two pieces of wood? Yes. I managed to even have left over wood scraps that could be used on another wood project one day.

One 4x6 and one 2x4 is all it took to build this bench. Roughly $30 to complete. Talk about making gifts for the holidays coming up!
