Alec Jacobson will talk about how we create simulations from real world, messy data, and the complex applications of these simulations in engineering and healthcare. Dr. Alec Jacobson is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and Canada Research Chair in Geometry Processing. He is also a Lab Leader at the Fields-CQAM Geometry Processing and Fabrication Lab, which pioneers large-scale testing of geometric algorithms. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
