Amazed at CIWIDEY Bandung 🇮🇩 Indonesia Travel Vlog: White Crater, Tea Plantation, Patenggang Lake

After visiting Lembang in the north of Bandung, it was time to visit Ciwidey. Ciwidey is about an hour southwest of Bandung. We were able to get to Ciwidey easily on an angkot minibus from Bandung. The main highlight of Ciwidey is the White Crater aka Kawah Putih. The White Crater is a gorgeous turquoise blue lake inside a volcanic crater. We had seen pictures of it (and even in this video) the color in real life is SOOO much better!!! We had never seen anything like it!
When you arrive at Kawah Putih you buy your tickets at the bottom then have the option to: walk the 5km to the top (we love walking but this is NOT recommended), pay for a shuttle bus to the top, or drive your own car and pay for parking at the top (which we've heard isn't cheap). We paid 110,000 Rp each for the entrance ticket combined with the shuttle. It was actually really cold on the drive up! We then spent a while exploring around the white crater. There are some additional places you can pay for such as the long wooden pier that goes into the middle of the crater or the bamboo skywalk that goes up the mountain around the crater. We did the second one and the views from up above were so good! We definitely recommend it!!
When we were finished at the White Crater, we walked back down to the main street to try to get the yellow angkot bus to our next destination. On google maps we were trying to go to the Perkebunan Teh Rancabali Tea Plantation. We didn't see a business, so we jumped off the angkot and explored on foot. We were amazed at the tea plantation! It was also gorgeous!!! We bought some strawberries from street vendors back on the main road and waited for the same angkot again.
We were planning on going to some hot springs that we found on google maps, but the angkot ended up going a different way. So instead we ended up at Patenggang Lake Rancabali. It's not where we were planning on going, but it was also gorgeous! A cool lake surrounded by trees, fog, and tea plantations! We wanted to take a boat ride, but after we stopped for some Indonesian food (Nasi Goreng and Ayam Bakar 😍) it was raining with thunder and lightning...so we decided a boat wasn't the best idea. We explored the lake for a little then headed back to our hotel to eat our delicious strawberries. We had such a good day exploring Ciwidey!!!!
