The Baking Soda Volcano Eruption Project is a fun and educational science experiment that demonstrates an acid-base chemical reaction. A model volcano is made using clay or paper-mâché around a bottle. Baking soda (a base) is placed inside the bottle, and vinegar (an acid) is poured in to trigger the eruption. When they mix, carbon dioxide gas is produced, creating bubbles and foam that flow out like lava.
