Treint and LaDamien met on a dating site 3 years ago. Treint calls it a successful tinder love story, but in the beginning he wasn’t very confident about approaching men, or being with men, because he didn’t feel secure in his masculinity. When they first met, Treint loved the fact that LaDamien was in touch with his feminine side, which allowed Treint to show up as more masculine. Treint is a trans man and has only ever dated women before LaDamien. It was also LaDamien's first time being with someone who is trans. In the beginning, the pair received a lot of backlash from friends and family. They didn’t like the idea of them together. It was a lot for the family to process. Many people could not understand why he would 'become a man to then end up with a man'. Not only did they not understand, but hundreds of people online also could not grasp the situation. Many people in the LGBTQ+ felt that he is not in a 'real gay relationship'. After a year of them being together the pair decided they they wanted to get married. They decided to elope and get married in Vegas. Due to the backlash they would receive, they didn’t tell any family members about it beforehand. Instead they told them after. Treint knew that they would try and stop it from happening...
