My cars all have a battery charger fitted and my choice is the CTEK, I prefer not to have them directly attached to the battery, and I do like to use what I call the more permanent comfort connector using the eyelets rather than the short-term loose attachments provided by the crocodile clips.
The remote positive terminal charging point with my Mercedes is an odd shape, so I devised a gadget to fix the CTEK comfort connector positive eyelet to it and this video shows you how I did it.
