진균성 부비동염은 무엇인가요?

부비동염은 콧속 부비동에
염증이 생기고 농성 분비물이 고이는 것으로
축농증이라고도 하며,
대부분 세균 감염으로 발생합니다.

그런데 부비동염 중에서 세균이 아니라
곰팡이, 즉 진균에 의해 생기는 것이 있는데
이를 진균성 부비동염이라고 합니다.

진균성 부비동염은 흔하게 나타나는 질환은 아닙니다.
하지만 고혈압 당뇨병 등의 만성 질환이 증가하면서
진균성 부비동염 환자도 많이 증가하고 있습니다

진균성 부비동염의 증상은 무엇인가요?

진균성 부비동염이라고 해서
세균성 부비동염과 구분되는 특별한 증상이 있는 것은 아닙니다.

부비동염의 일반적이 증상인
코막힘과 누렇고 냄새나는 콧물이 있으며
콧물이 목으로 넘어가는 후비루와 두통도 호소합니다.

진균성 부비동염이 세균성과 다른 점이 있다면

진균성 부비동염은 어떻게 치료하나요?

진균성 부비동염은 약물로는 치료가 되지 않고,
수술로만 치료할 수 있습니다.

내시경을 콧속으로 밀어 넣어 염증이 생긴 부위를 제거하고
부비동 출입구를 넓혀 환기와 배설이 잘 되도록 합니다.

진균성 부비동염은 뺨 쪽의 상악동 뿐만 아니라
이마 안쪽의 전두동, 뇌 아래쪽의 사골동, 접형동에 나타나는 경우도 많아
내비게이션 수술 시스템이 필요할 수도 있습니다.
