On 18 Nobember 1989, ITN filmed a group of East Berliners as they made their first visit to West Berlin since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Cameras rolled as people passed through a break in the wall that divided the city since 1961. It had been just nine days since the Peaceful Revolution had succeeded in overwhelming the travel restrictions imposed by East Berlin authorities, and East and West Berliners came together in an effort to bring down the barrier between them.
