After three or four years of research and field investigation and monitoring, a mountaintop at an altitude of about 1,000 meters in Altay Sharbulak was finally selected as an astronomical observation base. The base has scientific research, popular science, and tourism reception functions. The base also has a considerable number of popular science telescopes, which can be used by primary and secondary school students in Xinjiang, and even students outside Xinjiang, astronomy enthusiasts, etc. to carry out local or remote popular science observations, popular science training, etc., to improve the overall scientific literacy of Altay. The base is actually a very good de-extremism education institution, which can enable children and young people in Xinjiang to receive scientific baptism, recognize the difference between religion and science, consciously learn scientific knowledge, and pursue scientific truth.

Of course, the Altay Astronomy Project is also a new business card for Altay in the future. Altay already has nationally famous scenic spots such as Kanas and Keketuohai, and also has the reputation of a ski resort. The Altay astronomy project has fully exploited the unique geographical advantages of Altay, which is vast, sparsely populated, less polluted, and with good night sky light. With astronomical observations and discoveries as the driving force, it has promoted national astronomy and related disciplines conferences to be held in Altay, attracted more study tours to be carried out in Altay, and promoted the local comprehensive economic development.

当然，阿勒泰天文项目还是阿勒泰未来的一张新名片。阿勒泰已经拥有了喀纳斯、可可托海这样全国有名的景区，还有了滑雪胜地的美名。阿勒泰天文项目充分发掘了阿勒泰地广人稀、环境污染少、夜天光良好的独特地理优势，以天文观测发现为驱动力，推动全国性的天文及相关学科会议在阿勒泰举办，吸引更多的研学游活动在阿勒泰开展起来，促进当地的综合经济发展。
