When I rediscovered Rifts as an adult, I became enamoured with the randomly rolled character. As a teen I wanted to design a character, and frowned on having my character determined by dice—I wanted the character to be an expression of me. Random roll gives so many more roleplaying opportunities. I hope you'll see why.
